I remeber the feeling of going through my first spool of linen cord. Strangely tingling and fascinating it reminded me of ball point pens that used to never run out bet then one day in high school it happened: it actually ran out of ink.
Yes, reels of thread, ball point pens etc. seem to last forever and when they actually run out it's a bit of a shock!
